We are excited to take our juniors on a field trip to the University of Texas at Arlington’s College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) on April 11. This visit offers students a firsthand look at the cutting-edge Smart Hospital, where future healthcare professionals train using high-fidelity simulation technology. Through this experience, students will explore pathways in nursing, public health, and medical innovation while engaging with one of the top health science programs in the state.

Sammamish High School is in the midst of a five-year process to change from traditional teaching to an entirely problem-based curriculum. Follow the journey of the teachers, administrators, and students as they transform their school.

PBL Student Reminders
As we dive into our latest Problem-Based Learning (PBL), here are a few tips to help you stay on track:
  • Stay organized: Use your planner or digital calendar to keep track of deadlines, checkpoints, and team meetings.
  • 💬 Collaborate: Work closely with your group, teachers, and house leader—strong collaboration builds strong projects!
  • 🧠 Be curious: Ask thoughtful questions and dig deeper into your topic. Real-world problems require creative thinking.
  • 📁 Document your progress: Keep copies of your research, reflections, and drafts. These will help during presentations!
  • 🕒 Use your time wisely: Break the project into smaller tasks and don’t wait until the last minute.
Celebrate Our First Graduating Alpha Cohort from TCC!
We are thrilled to invite all families, friends, and students to join us in celebrating a historic milestone—the graduation of our first P-TECH Alpha Cohort at the TCC 2025 Commencement Ceremony! The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 6:30 PM at Dickies Arena located at 1911 Montgomery St., Fort Worth, TX.
This is a momentous occasion honoring the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our Early College High School students as they graduate with college credit and a strong foundation for future success.

P-TECH & AVID Present: 2nd Annual Exhibition & Induction Night!
Join us on Monday, May 19 at 5:00 PM for our 2nd Annual P-TECH & AVID Exhibition and Induction Night! Families are invited to explore our 9th and 10th grade students’ health science projects, followed by a special ceremony at 6:00 PM to welcome new P-TECH/AVID students and honor our first graduating class—the ALPHAS. Stick around for refreshments and cake—because no celebration is complete without dessert!
We’d love to see our P-TECH families and partners there. Your support makes all the difference!
Rising Seniors: Health Science Opportunity Just for You!
Are you interested in gaining real-world experience in the dental field while earning $12/hour?
Dr. Alexander Orthodontics is hiring two dependable Bowie P-TECH rising seniors to assist with dental sterilization and patient prep. Flexible shifts are available Monday through Thursday, and this role counts toward clinical hours. You must have your own transportation and be able to pass a background check.
This is a great way to start a part time job, boost your resume, gain experience, and represent our P-TECH program professionally.
